Founding Scrutinize

John Rea created what was to become Scrutinize while operating his own bookkeeping firm. He was frustrated by the amount of time he was spending focusing on quality management and book reviews rather than on growth. While still operating his firm and using the first version of Scrutinize, John was able to scope clients faster and more accurately, accelerate month-end close reviews, and deliver higher value service to his clients.

Soon, John decided to bring Scrutinize to the rest of the bookkeeping world. He recruited the rest of the amazing team to develop a product that could work for any bookkeeping firm and Scrutinize as we know it today was born.

Today, Scrutinize is focusing on improving customer experience, shipping great new features, and making bookkeepers more successful than ever before.
